By the time he started The Duff Company in 1985, Jerry already had directed a National NAMA Best of Show campaign, as well as a runner-up Best of Show campaign. He counts among his credits a Gold Camera at the Cannes Film Festival and numerous writing and photography awards through AAEA. And, he had directed crisis and issues management efforts for his global client Union Carbide.
A 5th generation horseman and cattleman, Jerry brings a unique and comprehensive perspective to TDC animal health and nutrition clients. He and Mary Jane are AQHA breeders and worked the national quarter horse show circuit for the past 15 years.
Jerry has worked a wide range of animal health (ethical and OTC) and nutrition clients during his career. At TDC these clients include the current Luitpold Animal Health (Adequan® and Equiphen®), AgriLabs' Tradewinds® brand OTC companion animal products, Equine Veterinary Associates (a referral surgery and equine hospital) and Dan McWhirter Quarter Horses (a Top-5 AQHA Breeder). Past clients include Boehringer Ingelheim projects, Merial strategic projects, Mobay Animal Health (Bayer), DeLaval, Dairy Farmers of America (DFA), Anchor-BioCeutic, Purina Mills and American Angus Association. His range of seed, crop protection and equipment clients include Bayer CropScience, Land O'Lakes/Winfield Solutions, Uniroyal Chemical, Tomen Agro, AgriPro, Dekalb-Pfizer Genetics, Funk’s Seeds, Elanco, Dow AgroSciences, International Harvester, Allis Chalmers, Western Star, International Trucks, International Engines, Equitable AgriBusiness, Mondavi Winery, industrial and construction equipment, biological and technology companies, and more.
He was raised on a large livestock and grain farm in Audrain County, Missouri, where his family raised quarter horses, purebred Brangus cattle, a commercial cow/calf herd and 2,000-head feedlot, and a farrow-to-finish hog operation. He is a University of Missouri graduate with a degree in Agriculture Journalism.
With a solid base of agricultural experience, Mary Jane is particularly skilled in translating client marketing objectives to workable, manageable plans of action. She brings the TDC integrated marketing services philosophy to clients as they strive to exceed sales goals. Her client experience at The Duff Company is wide and deep, with such companies as Bayer, Luitpold Pharmaceutical, Land O' Lakes, Boehringer Ingelheim, AgriLabs, Clipper Distributing (Phoenix), Equine Veterinary Associates (a referral surgery and equine hospital), Dan McWhirter Quarter Horses (a Top-5 AQHA Breeder), DeLaval, Dairy Farmers of America and others.
Prior to joining forces with Jerry at The Duff Company in 1987, Mary Jane served in a variety of positions with Fletcher/Mayo/Associates - ranging from account executive and public relations editor to vice president/management supervisor, when she managed the $17 million Union Carbide account. Under her leadership, Union Carbide was recognized for its unique and cost-effective marketing communications programs. Other client experience includes DeKalb-Pfizer Genetics, Case I-H, Nitragin, Stetson and Tensar Polytechnologies. Mary Jane also gained valuable insight into government programs and agribusiness through her four-year association with the USDA/Agricultural Stabilization & Conservation Service and the University of Missouri Extension Service.
Mary Jane grew up on a grain and livestock farm in central Missouri and worked in the family livestock auction business. She earned her bachelor's degree in home economics journalism and a master's degree in agriculture communications with an emphasis in agricultural economics at the University of Missouri.
